What Makes Us Different From Other Churches?
What We Believe
We are a parish of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), standing in the historic Christian faith and shaped by the best of both the catholic and evangelical traditions. Anglicanism is rooted in the ancient Church while remaining firmly committed to the authority of Scripture and the good news of Jesus Christ.
At the center of our life together is Jesus Christ—crucified, risen, and reigning. We believe the gospel is God’s saving work for the world and the foundation of the Church’s worship, teaching, and mission.
At the heart of our belief is this:
God has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ, and we come to know Him through Scripture, the historic teaching of the Church, and a lived faith shaped by prayer and worship.
Scripture and the Gospel
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and life. With the Reformers, we affirm that salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Christ alone. Scripture shapes our preaching, forms our discipleship, and calls every believer to repentance, faith, and new life in Christ.
At the same time, we read the Bible in continuity with the historic teaching of the Church, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide God’s people as He has throughout the centuries.
Catholic Faith, Reformed Convictions
We joyfully confess the historic creeds of the Church—the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds—as faithful summaries of biblical Christianity. These creeds connect us to the ancient, catholic (universal) Church across time and place.
As a Reformed and evangelical church, we proclaim the gospel clearly and expect lives to be transformed by a living faith in Jesus. Conversion, ongoing discipleship, and faithful obedience are central to the Christian life.
Worship and Sacraments
Our worship reflects the catholic heritage of the Church: ordered, reverent, and centered on Word and Sacrament. Using the Anglican liturgy and the Book of Common Prayer, we are formed by prayers that Christians have prayed for generations.
We recognize Baptism and Holy Communion as sacraments instituted by Christ and as real means of God’s grace. In the Eucharist, we are nourished by Christ as we hear His Word, confess our sins, receive forgiveness, and are sent out in mission.
Life, Mission, and Moral Teaching
We believe following Jesus shapes every part of life. In continuity with historic Christian teaching, we affirm that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy belongs within that covenant. We seek to live these convictions with humility, compassion, and pastoral care, welcoming all who desire to seek Christ.
We believe every Christian is called to evangelism, service, and mission, bearing witness to Christ through word and deed in our community and beyond.
Our Anglican Way
As part of the Anglican Church in North America, we stand within the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, while also embracing the insights of the Protestant Reformation. We are committed to biblical faith, historic worship, and Spirit-led mission, in fellowship with Anglicans around the world.
